Podcast recording

Two to five hosts around one table, each on a dedicated mic — we set gain, watch takes and deliver files your editor can drop straight into a timeline.

Four podcast hosts at round table with microphones and headphones.

Home recordings with laptop mics work for a pilot, but uneven levels, chair noise and cross-talk burn editor time. In our podcast room at Haarlemmerweg 239 you sit at a fixed table setup with headphones, pop filters and an engineer who listens in and marks timecodes when you ask.

Hourly booking suits tests or short updates; the episode rate covers about two and a half hours incl. setup for €245 incl. VAT. Planning eight episodes? The block rate €2,200 keeps sound consistent across the season. Read chapter markers for podcast sessions if you want structure marked during recording.

How it works

  1. Pick a rate

Choose hourly, per episode or the eight-episode block; Naomi Pieters confirms dates within 2 working days. A 40% deposit holds the slot.

  2. Brief us

Hosts, runtime, intro/outro, music beds and file layout — stereo mix plus splits or multitrack WAV per voice only.

  3. Record

Per-mic soundcheck, headphone mixes, recording with room for pauses. The engineer logs timecodes on request.

  4. Handoff

Basic noise reduction and level balance; export within hours after wrap. Files stay in our archive for 24 months.

Layout and capacity

The round table is built for two to five speakers at once — cramming more chairs creates mic overlap and fatigue. Each seat gets a broadcast dynamic with a pop filter; headphone feeds are individual so everyone hears themselves and the panel clearly.

Video podcasts with your own crew are fine; we focus on audio. We do not supply live-stream hardware, but you may connect your own interfaces after a quick check.

Who books this

Interview shows, news round-ups, internal comms teams upgrading from Zoom, and networks batching a season in one block. Minimum age in the studio is 16; younger guests need a guardian and prior OK.

Large fiction casts belong in ensemble live room or vocals and speech recording rather than the podcast table.

What to prepare

Send a run-of-show: segment order, guest list, ad breaks and desired filenames. Bring scripts on a tablet or print — rustling paper hits sensitive mics. Skip jangly jewellery and nylon shells if you can.

Deliver music intros as WAV without voice baked in; we do not re-record them unless booked separately. Music licensing is your responsibility — see disclaimer and terms and conditions.

Engineer workflow

The engineer sits in the control room, rolls takes and marks false starts when you call a cut. You host; we do not replace a showrunner. Remote guests via Zoom or Riverside are out of scope — this service targets people in the room in Amsterdam.

After wrap you get take numbers and durations. Want chapter markers during recording? Mention it in the brief so markers align with your outline.

Delivery formats

Default is one mono WAV 24 bit/48 kHz per host plus a stereo mix of the full conversation. Other sample rates on request. MP3 for review is optional; archive stays lossless.

Noise cleanup — realistic scope

The rate includes basic cleanup: light room tone, steady hum and small chair creaks where feasible. It is not a full dialogue edit in your DAW. Loud HVAC or street noise during takes is better solved by pausing than heavy post.

Full podcast production (cutting, music, ads, mastering) is not standard; you can book mastering later for jingles.

FAQ

Four hosts plus a guest?

Five mics is the table maximum. A sixth person without a mic is sometimes possible but hurts clarity — rotate or split sessions instead.

Do you shoot video?

We deliver audio. Bring your own camera crew; lighting and set are not included.

When do files arrive?

Usually same day via download link. Large block days may slip to the next working day — we give a concrete time.

Is editing included?

No — you receive lightly cleaned stems. Your editor handles content, music and ads. Ask for a separate quote for mixing if needed.

Can we drink in the room?

Non-fizzy drinks away from mics are fine. We provide cups without rattling lids.
