Why mark chapters in session
Apple Podcasts and others show chapters when metadata is correct. Marking segment starts while recording saves the editor from scrubbing forty-plus minutes of dialogue—especially for interview-heavy shows. Even a simple hand signal before each block gives us a backup if someone forgets to announce the transition on mic.
Many Amsterdam productions batch several interviews; chapters split intro, conversation, sponsor reads and outro without obvious hard cuts in the mix.
Table prep
Write a run of show: topic per block, estimated duration, who leads. Keep index cards or a tablet with times only—no tap sounds near mics. Say when you change segment (‘moving to block two’) so the engineer can drop a marker.
- Intro: cap at ninety seconds unless format differs
- Main: one marker per guest or theme
- Ad reads: separate chapter for skip-friendly feeds
- Outro: credits and CTA split
More hosts means more crosstalk—see plan vocal overdubs if someone tracks narration later.
Time and rates
A typical two-and-a-half-hour episode fits €245. Hourly €92; eight-episode block €2,200. Add ten to fifteen minutes for headphones and level check.
Overrun bills in 15-minute steps. Free cancel up to 7 days ahead; later rules in terms and conditions.
Markers in the DAW
During recording the engineer marks the master or per-mic session—depends on your edit workflow. Title in Dutch first if that is your primary feed; add English titles for a second feed if audio aligns. Keep titles short for phone screens.
| Segment | Sample title |
|---|---|
| Intro | Intro and welcome |
| Talk | Interview name topic |
| Break | Ad break |
| Close | Outro and credits |
Export and hosting
After session you or we export WAV for edit; chapters often land in final MP3/M4A via your host’s editor. Keep mm:ss plus title beside the project—privacy policy covers guest data in titles.
Our service includes basic noise prep, not full podcast mixing. For music inserts later, see stem files before mastering if you master beds separately.
Languages and accessibility
NL and EN feeds need titles matched to each audio cut—not literal translation when edits differ. Describe sound effects in show notes, not chapter titles unless essential.
The table room is treated for speech; more than five people may need our larger live setup—ask ahead via contact (max 5 in the building for bigger sessions).
Session day
We are at Haarlemmerweg 239, a short walk from the Haarlemmerweg stop (GVB bus 22 towards Indische Buurt). From Amsterdam Sloterdijk station, allow about twelve minutes on foot via Haarlemmerweg. On-street paid parking is available; you can park bicycles in front of the building. The studio entrance is at street level beside the wide front windows. Hours: Tuesday–Friday 09:30–21:00, Saturday 10:00–17:00, closed Sunday and Monday.. Westerpark is nearby for breaks between blocks. Arrive five minutes early so levels do not eat chapter time.
Minimum age 16; minors with guardian. Booking replies within 2 business days at [email protected].
